Safari Itinerary

In the early morning we shall pick you at your beach hotel. The distance of about 150 km will take you north. You will cross the arid Taru Desert, past a thorn bush savannah with monkey bread trees and extensive sisal plantations before hitting the vast area of Tsavo.

Just in time for lunch you are welcomed to your accommodation. From the restaurant, the terrace or your room, you can watch the great waterhole, which serves elephants, antelopes, zebras, buffalos and many other animals as a potion.

Surely you have already discovered the famous red elephants of the Tsavo, who powder themselves with laterite colored earth to protect themselves against the burning sun and annoying bugs. On the prowl in the afternoon, explore the area and try to find big game or big cats. Dinner and overnight at Voi Wildlife Lodge or Sentrim Tsavo Camp.

In the morning after breakfast and game drive you will gradually leave Tsavo East Park and drive along the Tanzanian border into Amboseli National Park. On the way, stop at Oloitokitok – with the best view of the highest freestanding mountain on earth. Upon arrival at the camp, enjoy lunch and then have a refreshing swim in the pool. At 4 pm your guide will be waiting for you. On the following game drive you will explore the mostly dry plain with its marsh-like wetlands. If you wish, you can go up the steps to Observation Hill Lookout and then go in search of the wildlife within the reserve, home to more than 50 different species of mammals and the most visited in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at Sentrim Amboseli Camp.

After an early breakfast today is a recommended early game – which should start at 6.30 clock.

At this time you not only have the best chance of experiencing the summit of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro and its neighbors, the Mawenzi cloud-free, but can also look forward to terrific wildlife viewing.

After watching the wildlife, leave the region and drive past small commercial places and markets to Ziwani. Before you start to stalk in the afternoon, you can observe the hippos and crocodiles in the dammed up Sante River in the shadow of giant acacias.
